Esophageal cancer is usually difficult to swallow solid foods first and then liquids. Gradually, cancer of the esophagus grows into a complete obstruction of swallowing. In minimally invasive esophagectomy, the entire esophagus is removed and the stomach is used to create a new food tube and shape it into a tube. Then thread the tube through the chest and connect it to the upper esophagus of the neck.
